New CPU, PCB, Enclosure CAD, and Even More Firmware

Heard across a street. Highly intelligent. A bike alarm like no other! $210 CAD. Direct from manufacturer: $120 CAD.

Just a quick post, because I’ve not posted in a long while. As well as a port to a new micro-controller (something that many firms have to do nowadays, thanks to the Supply Crisis), a new version of the PCB, and a hell of a lot of work on 3D printing, there’ve been many different CAD designs for the enclosure. The final touches for the firmware were completed in November, IIRC, but I added yet another feature in December as well. I’m still hoping to have a beta ready by the end of January, but the Supply Crisis has made disappear/expensive, too many parts. As such, automatically assembled/populated PCBs are either not possible, or are too expensive, or both. In summer, lead-time for may components was 2022; that still remains the case! This means a lot of hand-soldering by yours truly, and its consequent delays.
