The Never-Ending Quest for an Enclosure

Heard across a street. Highly intelligent. A bike alarm like no other! $210 CAD. Direct from manufacturer: $120 CAD.

Yeah, the enclosure has gone through more iterations. It’s a typical struggle for an electronics product: The struggles of engineering the hardware and software complete, then the impossibilities of the enclosure begin. The obstacle is capital: While you can work ‘on the side’ to finance the computer engineering, manufacturing of a physical object necessitates a massive injection of capital. Yes, a single enclosure can be built, but it’d be a few hundred dollars! To make it cheap, you have to order 10,000 or 100,000 of them, with commensurate costs. And this is so when you don’t even know if anyone will purchase your product!
